Tribeless Topics: Laughter

Hey, Fellow Tribeless!


What's on your mind today? I reveled in an hilarious exchange yesterday afternoon that almost literally had me rolling on the floor.


I'm on the table at my chiropractor's office when I asked if the recent, short-burst downpour cooled off the temperature outside at all (I had been floating blissfully in acupuncture land for the last 25 minutes). He says to me, just as he's about to snap my neck (not off my body, I promise!), "Well, if the temperature in this office is any indication I would say no. My eyeballs are starting to sweat."


I laughed a deep, hearty, life-affirming laugh born from the depth of my soul picturing in my mind the awesome imagery that accompanied that deadpan response! And for anyone who knows me, laughing is beyond a passion for me. It's vital to the very fiber of my being.


So, today, I'm thinking about laughing. Laughter is such a healing, kinetic, energizing, contagious Art form that has been stifled at an alarming rate in our society. But laughter releases endorphins, those happy hormones, reduces cortisol (i.e. stress hormone) levels, lowers your blood pressure and heart rate, and immediately elevates your mood unlike anything else.


Laughter is healthy and FUN! Who are you going to laugh with today? If you need someone, I'm always in!
