Tribeless Topic: Anger

Updated: Dec 29, 2018

Hey, Fellow Tribeless!

What's on your mind today? I'm raging in a bit of fiery anger!

So, this is what happened. I typed up this great post for you this afternoon. I went to attach a little visual treat to accompany this amazingly awesome post. I attached the visual snack, and then couldn't find my post ANYWHERE!

AAAARRRRGGHHHHH! I shake my clenched fists at Facebook!

But then my coach brain swiftly transitioned to, "What was the purpose for losing this amazingly awesome post?" Well, what was the purpose?

Honestly, I don't have an answer to that question. But what I do know is that there is a purpose, regardless of whether I can make sense of it or not in this moment or the next. Things always happen for a reason, even if the reason is to remember how glitchy Facebook is and copy and save Everything until it's posted!

So, while I'm not sure I could recreate my perfectly prosed post, perhaps it's more fitting to talk about anger today. It's okay to feel angry about things because it's your emotions telling you that, "Hey, something's not in alignment with you. You better check it out!"

The trick is to not live inside your anger and not react in anger. That's when it becomes self-defeating. I struggled with allowing myself to feel anger, well, I still struggle a bit with it. Because I always felt that anger was useless. It doesn't solve problems, so why give it breath? But what it does do that is important is tell us when our values are being challenged or even stomped upon.

What activates anger for you? Without yelling, I'd love to hear.
